Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Thursday at NATO's headquarters in Brussels that the U.S. would not be taken for 'suckers' - and that Europe should be responsible for Europe's defense.
'Make no mistake, President Trump will not allow anyone to turn Uncle Sam into "Uncle Sucker,"' the new Pentagon chief said.
He reiterated a point Trump has often made - that European allies needed to pony up more cash to support the alliance.
'NATO is a great alliance, the most successful defense alliance in history, but to endure for the future our partners must do far more for Europe's defense. We must make NATO great again,' Hegseth also said.
He noted that: 'We can talk all we want about values.'
'Values are important,' he said. 'But you can't shoot values. You can't shoot flags. And you can't shoot strong speeches. There is no replacement for hard power.'
'It should be obvious that increasing allied European defense spending is critical, as the president of the United States has said,' Hegseth said at the top of the press conference.
During the question and answer period, he called the idea 'false' that Trump starts off the negotiations to end the war in Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin from any position other than 'strength.'
'We have the perfect dealmaker at the table from a position of strength, to deal with both Vladimir Putin and Zelensky,' Hegseth argued.
'No one is going to get everything that they want, understanding who committed the aggression in the first place, but I challenge anyone else to think of a world leader at this moment, who with credibility and strength, could bring those two leaders to the table and forge a durable peace that ultimately serves the interests of Ukraine, stops the killing and the death, which President Trump has been clear he wants to do, and hopefully ultimately ... is guaranteed by the strength of Europeans who are prepared to back it up,' Hegseth outlined.
The comments came after Hegseth made clear Wednesday that the Trump administration's policy would be that the U.S. would not front the lion's share of aid to Ukraine.
Hegseth said that Washington will 'no longer tolerate an imbalanced relationship' with its allies, adding that 'Europe must provide the overwhelming share of future lethal and non-lethal aid to Ukraine'.
He stressed that the United States was no longer 'primarily focused' on Europe, and said that the old continent would have to fund most of Ukraine's defense itself in a turn away from a 75-year role as the 'primary guarantor of security in Europe'.
It comes as Trump revealed he had spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin at length on Wednesday about starting negotiations immediately to end the war in Ukraine.
'We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskiy, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now,' Trump said in a post on his social media platform.
Earlier, in a huge boost for Putin, Hegseth added that the US would not deploy troops to Ukraine to uphold any peace deal with Russia- one of the key security guarantees requested by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Hegseth also said that it was implausible for Ukraine to expect to return to a pre-war state, assessing that any peace process 'must start by recognising that returning to Ukraine's pre-2014 borders is an unrealistic objective'.
'The United States remains committed to the NATO alliance and to the defence partnership with Europe, full stop,' he said. 'But the United States will no longer tolerate an imbalanced relationship which encourages dependency.'
Washington's allies have been waiting nervously for clarity from Trump's administration after the he demanded that NATO more than double its defence spending target and vowed to end the war in Ukraine.
Hegseth's comments will compound Ukrainian fears and hand leverage to Russia, after Trump suggested the country 'may be Russian someday' in unsettling comments during an interview with Fox News, aired Monday.
Speaking to the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the NATO HQ in Belgium, Hegseth sought to clarify Trump's positions on whether NATO should accept Ukraine as a member, Europe's role in Ukraine's defense, and territorial changes.
'Honesty will be our policy going forward,' Hegseth stated during his speech on Wednesday.
He repeated that Trump was committed to ending the war and bringing about a negotiated peace between Russia and Ukraine.
'The bloodshed must stop and this war must end,' Hegseth said.
But he caveated that a return to pre-war borders was an 'illusionary goal' that would 'only prolong the war and cause more suffering'.
Russia says it has annexed five regions of Ukraine - Crimea in 2014 and then Donetsk, Kherson, Lugansk and Zaporizhzhia in 2022 - though it does not have full control over them.
Putin said last year that a deal would hinge upon Ukraine's recognition of Russia's claim to four regions in its east and south, including areas not currently controlled by Russia.
Zelenskyy has rejected any territorial concessions to Moscow, though he has acknowledged that Ukraine might have to rely on diplomatic means to secure the return of some territory.
In an interview with The Guardian yesterday, he stressed that that Europe will not be able to completely meet Ukraine's military needs or provide adequate security guarantees without US involvement.
Kyiv has expressed in the past that any settlement that does not include hard military commitments - such as NATO membership or the deployment of peacekeeping troops - will just allow the Kremlin time to regroup and rearm for a fresh attack.
NATO is founded on the principle that an attack on any ally must be considered an attack on them all and met with a collective response. Membership is considered to be the ultimate security guarantee, and it's one that Ukraine is trying to secure.
Zelenskyy said last month he would speak to the leaders of Britain and France to discuss a plan that would see troops from both countries stationed in Ukraine to held uphold and oversee a ceasefire agreement.
But speaking on Wednesday, Hegseth ruled out the idea of NATO accepting Ukraine as a member, or sending U.S. troops as peacekeepers to uphold a ceasefire.
'Any security guarantee must be backed by capable European and non-European troops,' he said, adding that 'to be clear, as part of any security guarantee, there will not be US troops deployed to Ukraine.'
The comments play into Putin's hands, with Moscow opposing both Ukraine's NATO ambitions and the proposal to deploy NATO peacekeepers in Ukraine.

Trump & Putin to Hold Peace Summit For Ukraine Without Zelensky, Who Wants War
Trump indicated that Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky will probably not be at the peace summit. Trump previously directed Zelensky to hold peace talks with Russia but Zelensky just wanted nuclear weapons. Zelensky's top aide even believes direct war between the U.S. and Russia would be good for Ukraine.
As a peace negotiation summit is being prepared, the threat of false flags to escalate the war intensify. Russia has recently claimed Ukraine is preparing false flags to draw NATO into direct war with Russia.
Following their phone call on Wednesday, President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are laying the groundwork for a summit between the two nations with the aim of bringing an end to the Ukraine war.
“They will focus on a separate meeting, they also agreed that instructions would be immediately given to the relevant assistants so that they would begin the relevant work,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.
Trump indicated that Ukrainian ruler Vladimir Zelensky will probably not be at the peace summit. The Ukrainian’s ‘victory plan‘ calls for de-facto war with Russia, NATO membership and three classified goals. It is unclear where the summit will be held but some reports indicate a neutral country such as Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates may host the event.
Interestingly, the idea to hold this summit predates Wednesday’s call.
“Reports suggested earlier that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates had been identified as potential venues for a summit between Trump and Putin. The two Middle Eastern nations have maintained neutrality throughout the conflict, engaging in dialogue with both the Russian and Ukrainian leaders,” RT said February 6.
Trump himself said that Saudi Arabia will likely be the venue and that the encounter is likely to happen in the not too distant future.
“The first time we’ll meet in Saudi Arabia, see if we can get something done… We know the Crown Prince [Mohammed bin Salman], and I think it’d be a very good place to meet,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office Wednesday.
The two Presidents also exchanged invites to each other.
“In fact, we expect that he’ll come here, and I’ll go there,” Trump said.
“There is definitely a need for such a [Trump-Putin] meeting to be held promptly. The heads of state have a lot to talk about,” Peskov said Wednesday. “It is also impossible to speculate on any deadlines at this point, because the work will only begin these days.”
Following Wednesday’s call, Trump discussed a meeting (not to be confused with the summit) set for Friday in Germany featuring Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. This is notable as some Western European figures wish to keep the war going.
Trump also detailed the substance of his Wednesday call with Putin as well as his agenda to bring an end to the conflict.
Wednesday’s call was the first time leaders of the two countries had dialogue since the start of the Ukraine war in February 2022, as former President Joe Biden refused to speak with Putin.
Trump understands that the policy of Biden to never compromise with Russia will only keep the war going until the last Ukrainian and lead to a potential nuclear war. Trump’s policy does include compromises with Russia in order to stop the killing from the conflict and prevent human extermination via nuclear war.
“Trump has since signaled that he is ‘okay’ with keeping Ukraine out of NATO and suggested that it is ‘unlikely’ that Kiev could regain all of the territory it has lost to Russia over the past decade,” RT said Thursday.
These compromises don’t just counter the war-hawk policies of the Biden administration but that of Zelensky who does not wish to compromise on anything with Russia, wants to keep the war going and join NATO and even wants nuclear weaponsof his own.

At Least 20 Injured as Driver Ploughs Car Into Crowd in Germany
At least 20 people were injured, some seriously and others possibly fatally when a driver ploughed a car into a trade union rally in Munich, Germany on Thursday morning.
UPDATE 1200 GMT — 28 Injured, suspect is Afghan ‘asylum seeker’
Following Bild‘s earlier claim of internal police information that the man held by police over the driving of a car into a trade union demonstration was an Afghan, this fact has now been confirmed by the Bavarian interior minister Joachim Herrmann. He said the Kabul-born Afghan “asylum seeker” was already known to police for drug crimes and theft.
The number of people known injured has also been increased to 28 and Herrmann said it is being treated as a presumed deliberate attack. That the car accelerated into the protest, having passed a police car, and that a police officer shot at the vehicle was also confirmed.
Distressingly, images from the scene show a baby stroller upended near to where the car came to a halt.
What is now being called an attack by the authorities comes just one day before the Munich Security Conference is due to take place in the city a short drive away. Attended by global leaders, the event is seen as a major meeting for security policymakers and practitioners and is due to last until the end of the weekend.

A march by one of Germany’s largest trade unions, the Ver.di was struck by an automobile driven by an unidentified “young male” on Thursday morning on the city’s Seidlstraรe. One newspaper asserts the suspect is a migrant male but police have not confirmed the assertion at time of publication.
Munich paramedics said at least 20 people had been injured. They have not yet given exact numbers on how serious these injuries are, but German newspaper Die Welt states their saying some are “seriously” injured, and some may even be “critically” injured, which is to say at danger of death.
Police have no confirmed or denied if there were any killed during the incident, but publication Sueddeutsche Zeitung saysorganisers from the Ver.di march claimed a woman had been killed and that children were among the injured, including one who had to be resuscitated at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was “secured” by police. Eyewitnesses cited by various German outlets alternately claim they witnessed the driver deliberately plough his accelerating vehicle into the crowd, or that it appeared to be an accident. But broadcaster BR24 claims witnesses who say when police arrived they found the driver locked inside his car and that they fired shots into the vehicle.
Further, Bild claims police sources who told the tabloid the arrested man is a 26-year-old Afghan citizen.
Police have not said officially whether they are treating the collisions as a deliberate act or traffic accident, and whether the fact the crowd was a trades union gathering was a factor, but have confirmed they are investigating all leads. They have askes witnesses, and anyone with images or footage to come forward.

At its peak, the portal contained tens of thousands of records including videos, images, testimony, audio recordings, text messages and more.
The Press Coalition, a group of 14 media organizations, first sought to secure all Jan. 6 trial records in 2021, resulting in a standing order for the Justice Department to preserve video exhibits from the attack on the U.S. Capitol in a portal known as USAfx. Journalists and lawyers alike can access the portal once the government grants them authorization.
But this week, the Press Coalition said video exhibits entered for at least one Capitol riot defendant, Glen Mitchell Simon, are missing. When the group asked the Justice Department about it, the department “offered no explanation for why these judicial records are no longer publicly accessible or whether any other Capitol riot records that were previously available on USAfx have disappeared as well,” according to the lawsuit.
The motion asks the court to order the Justice Department to restore Simon’s file to USAfx within 48 hours, explain why the records are missing and disclose whether any other videos or records were removed in violation of the 2021 court order. The coalition also wants the court to order that no other records be removed unless there is a formal request made to the judge, the Press Coalition is notified and permission is granted.
Simon pleaded guilty in 2022 to a number of charges, including disorderly conduct in a restricted building. Prosecutors said Simon, wearing a plated vest, helped whip up the crowd by screaming at police and cursing at them, calling them “spineless fucking oath-violating little fucking weasels.” They said he also urged fellow rioters to seek out members of Congress as he stalked the inside of the U.S. Capitol building for more than an hour on Jan. 6, 2021.
He was sentenced to eight months in prison in August 2022. The judge overseeing his case pointed out that he could have faced additional charges for lying to the FBI on at least two occasions, NBC News reported at the time.
Now Simon’s case file on USAfx is missing all nine videos that were entered into evidence.
“The video exhibits are judicial records subject to the public rights of access under the First Amendment and common law, and judges have determined, case by case, that the public is entitled to access each of the Video Exhibits,” the Press Coalition wrote Tuesday.
The coalition, which includes CNN, ABC, The Associated Press, CBS, NPR and The New York Times, notes that in the days since President Donald Trump first issued pardons and commutations for Jan. 6 rioters, federal judges have repeatedly hit back at Trump’s proclamation that his pardons were rectifying the “grave national injustice” that was investigating the attack on the Capitol and the subsequent 1,500-plus prosecutions that followed.
The coalition reminded the court of something U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman, who oversaw the case of former U.S. Marine Major Christopher Warnagiris, recently said about Jan. 6 charges. Warnagiris was convicted of assaulting police during the Capitol riot.
The charges were “fully supported by evidence in the form of extensive videotapes and photographs, admissions by defendants in the course of plea hearings and in testimony at trials, and the testimony of law enforcement officers and congressional staff present at the Capitol on that day,” Friedman said last month.
“This Court cannot let stand the revisionist myth relayed in this presidential pronouncement,” he added.
The right to access such evidence does not “dissipate merely because all of the Capitol Case defendants have been pardoned,” the Press Coalition’s lawyer, Charles Tobin, said. “To the contrary, the public interest in ensuring that the video exhibits remain available in the future is all the greater, given that these videos ‘are immutable and represent the truth, no matter how the events of January 6 are described by those charged or their allies.’”
The Justice Department under the Trump administration has been wiping evidence of rioters’ crimes from the internet since January.

Kristi Noem: I ‘Clawed Back’ Full Payment FEMA Gave to NYC Migrant Hotels
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said on Wednesday that she “clawed back” the full payment made by FEMA for hotels to house migrants in New York City, days after the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) announced the discovery of a $59 million payment made last week.
“I have clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels,” Noem announced on Wednesday, noting that FEMA was actively funding the Roosevelt Hotel “that serves as a Tren de Aragua base of operations and was used to house Laken Riley’s killer.”
“Mark my words: there will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people,” she vowed.
Her announcement came on the heels of Elon Musk, heading up DOGE efforts, announcing that they discovered a $59 million payment made last week to luxury hotels in the Big Apple, all with the purpose of housing migrants.
“Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order,” Musk wrote.
FEMA remains under fire for the way it operated under former President Joe Biden’s leadership, not only discriminating against Trump supporters — being told to avoid hurricane victims with Trump signs in their yards — but also mismanaging funds. This came to a head after former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said last fall that FEMA did not have the funds to make it through the remainder of hurricane season. At the same time, $640 million was allotted to DHS specifically for issues related to illegal immigrants, as Breitbart News reported.
On Wednesday, Noem’s DHS confirmed FEMA is terminating the four employees — FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts, as well as a grant specialist — who circumvented leadership and made the payments for migrant housing.
“Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants,” DHS’s Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people,” McLaughlin added.

It’s a compelling vision to solve the problem when nothing else has worked.”
Trump rocked the world on Tuesday evening when at a press conference at the White House alongside Netanyahu he detailed a different vision for Gaza that nobody had ever previously considered.
“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said in the shock announcement. “We’ll love it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous bombs and other weapons on the site… and get rid of the destroyed buildings [and] create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing.”
Some Arab leaders dismissed the idea out of hand, and establishment media figures roundly ripped Trump for it. But Netanyahu told Breitbart News he thinks this “creative thinking” is “exactly” the kind of novel approach that eventually led to the Abraham Accords in Trump’s first term in the White House and could unlock a lasting regional peace far bigger than that now.
“I’ve seen this time and again and I said this in the press conference: President Trump cuts to the chase,” Netanyahu told Breitbart News. “He says things that people don’t dare say and once he does they begin to think and then their jaws drop and they scratch their heads and say, ‘You know, he’s right.’ It’s indicative of how we solve problems. Everybody said we can’t get four peace agreements with Arab countries unless we first resolve the Palestinian problem. There’s a problem with that because the Palestinians don’t want a solution; they want dissolution of the state of Israel. If we kept waiting for the Palestinians to agree, we would have never gotten the Abraham Accords. That outside-the-box thinking characterizes President Trump and the same applies to the region of Gaza. This original, creative thinking could create a different future and I for one think it should be pursued and have said so again and again.”
Netanyahu said he spoke to leaders in Congress about it, too, and that they seemed open to the idea and think there may be something “worth examining” here.
“I said this to the Republican and Democratic Congressional leadership today, the leaders of the Senate and the leaders of Congress,” Netanyahu said. “I could see that they’re sort of digesting that there’s something different here, something that is worth examining.”

As far back as 1993, USAID partnered with Soros’ Management Training Program to train professionals in Eastern Europe, a region that would later see Soros-backed “color revolutions” funded in part by USAID. In Ukraine, the agency poured millions into “democracy programs” that aligned with Soros’ efforts to destabilize the region. By the 2010s, Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) had emerged as a central player in USAID’s operations, with the agency funneling millions into OSF projects in Guatemala, Albania, and beyond. As Judicial Watch revealed in 2018, USAID even financed Soros-linked activists in Albania, allocating $9 million to a campaign run by Soros’ East West Management Institute. These actions reveal a disturbing pattern: American taxpayer dollars are being used to bankroll Soros’ radical, regime-changing efforts worldwide.
The World Economic Forum
USAID’s ties to the World Economic Forum (WEF) represent another layer of this globalist conspiracy. For nearly a decade, the agency has invested millions in WEF initiatives, including a multi-year agreement worth approximately $26 million. The WEF’s vision of a “reset” global order—where citizens “own nothing” and the United States cedes its superpower status—has been a central theme of its work. In January 2024, House Republicans took a stand against this dystopian agenda with the introduction of the ‘Defund Davos Act,’ which sought to block federal funding to the WEF.
Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) forcefully condemned the use of taxpayer money to finance the WEF’s “insular, global elitist” gatherings. “Forcing American Taxpayers to fund annual ski trips for insular, global elitists is absurd – not to mention reprehensible,” Perry said. Vance and Musk question the authority of the courts as Trump's agenda faces legal pushback
WASHINGTON (AP) — Top Trump administration officials are openly questioning the judiciary's authority to serve as a check on executive power as the new president's sweeping agenda faces growing pushback from the courts.
Over the past 24 hours, officials ranging from billionaire Elon Musk to Vice President JD Vance have not only criticized a federal judge's decision early Saturday that blocks Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency from accessing Treasury Department records, but have also attacked the legitimacy of judicial oversight, a fundamental pillar of American democracy, which is based on the separation of powers.
“If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal. If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that’s also illegal. Judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power,” Vance wrote on X on Sunday morning.
That post came hours after Musk said overnight that the judge who ruled against him should be impeached.
“A corrupt judge protecting corruption. He needs to be impeached NOW!” said Musk, who has been tasked by President Donald Trump with rooting out waste across the federal government.
Musk also shared a post from a user who had suggested that the Trump administration openly defy the court order.
“I don’t like the precedent it sets when you defy a judicial ruling, but I’m just wondering what other options are these judges leaving us,” the person had written, in part.
The court order against Musk barred his team temporarily from accessing a Treasury system that contains sensitive personal data, such as Social Security and bank account numbers for millions of Americans. Musk and his team say they are simply rooting through government systems to identify waste and abuse at the direction of the Republican president.
Deputy White House chief of staff Stephen Miller called the ruling “an assault on the very idea of democracy itself.”
“What we continue to see here is the idea that rogue bureaucrats who are elected by no one, who answer to no one, who have lifetime tenure jobs, who we would be told can never be fired, which, of course, is not true, that the power has been cemented and accumulated for years, whether it be with the Treasury bureaucrats or the FBI bureaucrats or the CIA bureaucrats or the USAID bureaucrats, with this unelected shadow force that is running our government and running our country,” Miller said on Fox News Channel’s "Sunday Morning Futures."
The pushback comes as the administration's efforts to dismantle government agencies and eliminate large swaths of the federal workforce are being held up by the courts. Judges have also blocked Trump, at least temporarily, from moving forward with mass federal buyouts, from placing thousands of USAID workers on leave and from implementing an executive order that seeks to end birthright citizenship for anyone born in the U.S.
Early Saturday, U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer issued a preliminary injunction after 19 Democratic attorneys general sued, alleging the Trump administration allowed Musk’s team access to the Treasury Department’s central payment system in violation of federal law. “We're very disappointed with the judges that would make such a ruling, but we have a long way to go," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while he flew from Florida to New Orleans to attend the Super Bowl. He added: “No judge should frankly be allowed to make that kind of a decision.”
The payment system handles tax refunds, Social Security benefits, veterans’ benefits and much more, sending out trillions of dollars every year while containing an expansive network of Americans’ personal and financial data. A hearing is set for Feb. 14.
Democrats have been sounding alarms over Musk and Trump's efforts, including efforts to halt spending that has already been appropriated by Congress. Under the U.S. Constitution, Congress is the body in charge of spending.
“I think this is the most serious Constitutional crisis the country has faced, certainly, since Watergate," Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said on ABC’s “This Week.” “This is a red alert moment when this entire country has to understand that our democracy is at risk."
Murphy expressed concern that the courts are ill-prepared for the onslaught they are facing.
“The pace of this assault on the Constitution in order to serve the billionaire class, it is absolutely dizzying. And so, you have to run a full-scale opposition," Murphy said. "Ultimately, you’ve got to bring the American public into this conversation because we need our Republican colleagues in the House and in the Senate ultimately to put a stop to this. You cannot just rely on the court system.”
Republicans, who have largely stood in lockstep behind the president since he was sworn in for a second term, did so again on Sunday.
Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan blasted the court ruling for the Treasury Department case while arguing that the president should be able to implement his agenda as he sees fit.
“I assume we will argue this out in court, like the other 17 or 18 decisions we have seen in the last several days. That all is going to get argued out in court. And, frankly, we knew the left, we knew the Democrats were going to do this," the Republican said on CNN's “Inside Politics.”

No Farmers, No Food: Farmers Rally Outside UK Parliament over Labour’s Death Tax Grab
Thousands of British farmers descended upon Westminster on Monday morning to protest the leftist Labour Party government’s plans to impose inheritance taxes on family farms, which critics warn will force farmers to sell their land after their parents die to pay the tax collector.
Rows of tractors clogged Whitehall outside Downing Street, stretching from Parliament to Trafalgar Square on Monday as Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer’s government has vowed to plough ahead with plans to slap a 20 per cent death tax on farms valued at least £1 million (£2m for married couples) by next year.
The leftist government has justified removing the inheritance tax exemption for farmers because some wealthy individuals have bought farmland to safeguard their assets from the state, and this wealth is needed to pay for social services like the state healthcare system.
However, others have noted that while some farms may have high land values, many farmers operate on a thin profit margin and, therefore, would be unable to pay the tax bill without selling land.
The protest on Monday comes as the government said that it will stand “steadfast” with its death tax agenda as a petition calling for reversal gained 150,000 signatures.
Some of the placards seen at the demonstration read: “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you”, “Make Agriculture Great Again”, and the phrase seen at protests throughout Europe: “No farmers, No food”.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, fourth-generation farmer Matt Cowling, 40, of Padstow in Cornwall, said: “I could be the generation that loses it, it’s heartbreaking and soul destroying.”
“This Labour policy will kill British farming and kill our food security. We can’t be dependent on other countries. They’re completely out of touch. Farmers, the working class, the National Insurance hikes – it’s killing everyone.”
“I am almost not encouraging my eight-year-old son not be a farmer.”
The farmers were joined by Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, who vowed that if his party wins the next election, they will reverse the Labour tax grab on farmers.
Farage railed against the concept of death taxes in general, describing the scheme as “monstrous” and “immoral on every level”, arguing that it is a tax on money that has already been taxed.
The Reform UK leader suggested that there was a more “sinister” motivation by Labour’s tax grab, suggesting that the government actually wants farms to shut down to grab the land for so-called green energy projects or to build housing for the millions of migrants who will come to the country in the coming years.
“Maybe you’re not diverse enough, maybe that’s what it is,” Farage quipped.

South African Opposition Sues over Expropriation Bill After Trump’s Criticism
The leading South African opposition party, the Democratic Alliance (DA), has filed a lawsuit in a provincial court against the Expropriation Act, which U.S. President Donald Trump criticized in an executive order last week.
As Breitbart News reported, Trump issued an executive order suspending aid to South Africa over its legislation allowing expropriation of property without compensation, as well as its attacks on Israel and support for Iran.
On Monday, the DA announced that it had filed a lawsuit against the Expropriation Act. From News24.com:
The DA has ramped up its efforts to challenge the Expropriation Act and has filed court papers in the Western Cape High Court of South Africa.
DA Federal Council Chairperson, Helen Zille announced in a statement on Monday.
Zille said the Expropriation Act, which president Cyril Ramaphosa recently signed into law, is unconstitutional, both substantively and procedurally.
A statement on the DA website went into greater detail (original emphasis):
We reject this Act, because we believe that no government in a democratic country should be given such sweeping powers to expropriate property without compensation.
We have not forgotten that the apartheid government used similar powers to forcibly remove communities from their land, often with inadequate compensation or none at all. This history teaches us that true redress requires protecting property rights, ensuring that no government is ever given unchecked expropriation powers ever again.

Policy uncertainty about a state’s ability to protect property rights is a significant deterrent to domestic and foreign investment. It will ultimately throttle economic growth and kill jobs.
The statement did not refer to Trump, and the DA has opposed the legislation for several years, but his criticism has rocked South African politics.
The DA is currently in a coalition with the country’s largest party, the African National Congress (ANC), at a national level. The fight over expropriation has increased tensions within the coalition.

Globalists are scheming to undermine voters worldwide and protect “climate action” from “political headwinds.”
The elites — many of whom buzz around on private jets — at the upcoming Munich Security Conference are openly plotting ways to undermine voters worldwide who have rejected climate change insanity, posting on X Monday, “When is it too hot to handle? #MSC2025 will put traditional and non-traditional security threats on the agenda.”
The post contains a graphic which reads, “How can climate action be shielded from political headwinds?”
The 2025 Munich Security Report also undermines the agenda that individuals worldwide voted for. A summary of the report cites favorite leftist buzzwords and agenda items including “inclusive economic growth” and “threats” like “climate change:
The report shows that visions of multipolarity are also polarized. This makes it increasingly difficult to adapt the existing order peacefully, avoid new arms races, prevent violent conflicts within and among states, allow for more inclusive economic growth, and jointly address shared threats like climate change. America, certainly, voted against the leftist climate change agenda by electing President Donald Trump, who on day one signed an executive order titled, “PUTTING AMERICA FIRST IN INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL AGREEMENTS.”
“In recent years, the United States has purported to join international agreements and initiatives that do not reflect our country’s values or our contributions to the pursuit of economic and environmental objectives,” the order reads in part.
It further contends that the agreements “steer American taxpayer dollars to countries that do not require, or merit, financial assistance in the interests of the American people.”
Ultimately, he withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Agreement and has put an emphasis on American energy, rejecting the electrical vehicle push and embracing fossil fuels. But it is not just America rejected the climate change narrative, either.
As Breitbart News reported, “A U.N. demand for countries to submit new targets for slashing carbon emissions was almost entirely ignored Monday, with heavy polluters China, India and the European Union amongst the biggest names on a lengthy absentee list.”
