Butchart Gardens

The beautiful Butchart Gardens came out after the limestone quarry gave up it's minerals around 1909, limestone used to make cement that formed many of the city offerings in Portland Oregon.  A Japanese gardener came to help in the building ad design of the beautiful gardens.  Then a 65 year old garden artist named Isaburo Kishida of Yokohama came to Victoria, at the request of his son, to build a tea garden for Esquimalt Gorge Park, changing the area into amazing beauty.  This is similar to the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco where a park and Japanese Gardens was made similarly from authentic cultured people of Asia.
