๐Ÿ†˜ Update!

 ⭐️

As the first home in Pacific Palisades was set ablaze on Tuesday morning, Los Angeles mayor Karen Bass was absent from the city.

Neither was she there when a second brush fire broke out in the Altadena area that evening, nor a third in Sylmar.

Instead, Bass, a 71-year-old former physician and congresswoman, was in Ghana.

The mayor was selected by President Joe Biden as one of his four-member presidential delegation to attend the inauguration of the African nation’s incoming president, John Dramani Mahama.

As a Democratic representative for California, Bass chaired the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights and International Organizations between 2019 and 2022.

Despite reports of a looming fire weather on Friday afternoon – with the National Weather Service warning that conditons leant themselves to “rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior” if ignition occurred – by Saturday, Bass was on a plane to Ghana’s capital Accra.

Three fires – Pacific, Eaton and Hurst – were racing across southern California by Tuesday evening. Hurricane-force winds of up to 100mph were fanning flames overnight, causing the blaze to travel a rate of five football fields per minute.

Bass, meanwhile, attended Mahama’s inauguration, leaving City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson as LA’s acting mayor when the three fires broke out.

The mayor received a raft of criticism over the timing of her trip from those on both sides of the political aisle, as well as MAGA faithful and Silicon Valley stalwart, Elon Musk, who called her “utterly incompetent”.

As Bass touched down on US soil on Wednesday morning with parts of her city turned to ash, Sky News reporter David Blevins peppered her with questions about her Ghana visit.

When asked about being absent from LA when citizen’s homes began to smolder, the interviewer was met with silence.

“Do you regret cutting the fire department’s budget by millions, madame mayor?,” Blevins prodded with an outstretched arm holding a microphone.

“Have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today,?” the interviewer continued.

In another probe, Blevins asked: “No apology for them (Los Angeles residents)? Do you think you should have been visiting Ghana while this was unfolding back home?”

Bass refrained from answering a single question, with her face remaining emotionless and her eyes almost exclusively glued to the floor.

After her silence, Bass told reporters on Wednesday afternoon that she “took the fastest route back, which included being on a military plane”.

Despite being away on diplomatic duties, Bass had been a constant presence on social media, with her X account had been sharing updates on the fire, evacuation orders and emergency shelters.

“There is an expected destructive and potentially life-threatening windstorm starting Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon,” she wrote on X late on Monday evening ahead of fire breaking out.

While an update on Tuesday evening read: “Firefighters are now actively and aggressively responding to the #PalisadesFire with support from regional partners.”

Both Bass’ deputy chief of staff Celine Cordero and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger maintained that the mayor was involved in decision making throughout her trip, according to the Los Angeles Times.

However, with Bass away from LA, her opponent in the 2022 mayoral election, Rick Caruso, filled the void in the press, slamming the city’s handling of the disaster across multiple news outlets.

Caruso, whose daughter lost her home in the fires, told Fox 11: “We’ve got a mayor that’s out of the country, and we’ve got a city that’s burning.”

What Did Schiff Do —He Spread Lies After Lies In Unprecedentedly Illegal Law Warfare against President elect Donald Trump for twelve consecutive years to oust him and incarcerate him to hold him back from leading our great nation!  Trump on fire was all dc cared about as America burned again and again and again! Let’s hire an ‘independent commission’ to hide the real reasons behind American unprecedented fires! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

1- Friendly fire against citizens nothing barred missilery, High technology antigravity crafts and drones

2- activated isis type warriors called up for foot and pedal warfare (As seen in attack against Israel music festival attendees terrorist attacks) to set fire line parameters as seen by Islam militant dressed to kill in black with black ski mask caught in the act setting people’s trash cans on fire with blow torch until citizens arrested him 3- Equity dei hiring practices of hiring inexperienced persons whose secret hate against fellow citizens is unprecedented (Just observe the last two hate speeches Biden gave in state of the union televised broadcasts).

What does equity mean to Biden Administration and cronies such as Pelosi, newsome and schiff?  Replace citizens with the people purchased like property by biden administration to do just that!

It’s a fact they purchase illegal immigrants to invade America to display ‘equity’ in action.  People in Los Angeles have experienced this yet again under newsome, Biden, pentagon, schiff, Pelosi and dei leadership in Los Angeles and California  …and nothing quite takes care of this agenda for them better than eliminating entire cities through warfare including weaponized weather and they blame global warming after they destroy nature to a crisp and kill all the animals and plants that prevent fires and nurture earth and buffer it against harm

Schiff Calls for ‘Independent Commission’ to Investigate CA Wildfire Response

Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that an independent commission should investigate the local and state response to the wildfires in Southern California.

Schiff said, “The governor’s called for an independent review of why we didn’t have enough water in places like the Palisades, there were also water pressure issues in Altadena. I support that independent review. I think we should go further and, frankly, do an independent commission review of all of this. What went right in our response? What went wrong in it.”

He added, “I’m deeply concerned about these erroneous alerts, these erroneous evacuation alerts that have gone out. If people can’t trust when they’re told you need to get out, that they do need to get out, then it not only severely impacts the whole effort, but people ignore the alerts, endangering themselves and endangering the firefighters that have to step between the fires and these civilians. So there’s a lot to get through. I think we need an independent commission to look at all of it, and beyond that, Jonathan, we’re going to need to rebuild and with a sense of urgency. We need cleanup operations when the flames are out. We need the rebuilding to go forward.”

LA County Fire Department donated essential firefighting equipment to Ukraine – and now Los Angeles is burning

The Pacific Palisades Fire has grown to over 15,800 acres, forcing 30,000 evacuations, destroying hundreds of structures, and claiming five lives, with containment efforts ongoing.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s 2022 donation of surplus equipment to Ukraine has drawn criticism, as the department now struggles with resource shortages amid the wildfire crisis.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass faces backlash for being abroad during the disaster, while her administration’s $17.6 million fire department budget cut and recruitment challenges exacerbate the crisis.
The Biden administration’s halt on forest management projects and focus on Ukraine aid, including a new multibillion-dollar package, has sparked criticism amid California’s wildfire emergency.
As wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles County and other parts of Southern California, reports are resurfacing about how the Los Angeles County Fire Department donated essential equipment to Ukraine back in 2022 – equipment that could have been useful now as the county finds itself struggling to contain multiple blazes.

The Pacific Palisades Fire, which began on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 7, has grown to over 15,800 acres with zero percent containment as of Wednesday, Jan. 8, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The blaze has forced the evacuation of at least 30,000 residents and destroyed hundreds of structures. Five people have been confirmed dead, with officials warning that the death toll could rise as firefighters battle multiple uncontained fires across the region.

The crisis has exposed a series of missteps and resource shortages that have left California vulnerable. In 2022, the Los Angeles County Fire Department donated surplus equipment to Ukraine, a move praised at the time as a gesture of solidarity. However, critics now argue that the decision has left the department ill-equipped to handle the current disaster.

"All over Southern California, people are finding ways to keep Ukraine front and center, and it's no different for the Los Angeles County Fire Department," ABC 7 reported in 2022.

Today, that goodwill gesture has come under scrutiny as the department scrambles to respond to the escalating crisis.

Democratic politicians fumble reaction to disaster

Compounding the problem, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has faced criticism for being abroad in Ghana during the disaster. Her administration is also being lambasted for slashing the budget of the fire department by $17.6 million for the 2024 to 2025 fiscal year, down from an initial proposed cut of $23 million, but still a very significant reduction in the department's operating budget.

The city has also struggled to recruit new firefighters for years, and the federal Forest Service's operations in Southern California have seen a significant reduction in personnel that has not been addressed by the administration of Gov. Gavin Newsom or by President Joe Biden.

Additionally, the Biden administration halted certain forest management projects, such as prescribed burns, citing environmental concerns.

In a reactive move, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has agreed to reimburse California for up to 75 percent of eligible firefighting costs, including equipment, supplies and mobilization efforts. However, critics argue that this is too little, too late.

The Biden administration’s focus on Ukraine has further fueled criticism. As wildfires rage in California, the Pentagon is preparing to announce another multibillion-dollar aid package to Ukraine, with officials expressing frustration that they cannot allocate the full $4 billion remaining in the Ukraine coffers before President-elect Donald Trump takes office. (Related: Antony Blinken: U.S. has provided Ukraine with over $100 billion in aid since 2022.)

"What we are focused on right now, especially at the Pentagon, is providing Ukraine with the defense capabilities that we can provide in the time we have," a Pentagon official said.

Biden, who participated in a briefing with Newsom and fire officials on Wednesday, canceled an upcoming diplomatic trip to Italy due to the wildfires. However, his administration's priorities remain a point of contention.

"Democrat fealty to Ukraine has continued apace. And as Biden prepares to leave office, his focus remains to give the country as much money as possible as opposed to saving Americans in California," one critic noted.

Watch this report discussing how tens of thousands in Southern California have already been forced to evacuate due to the raging wildfires.
